Facelift

I finally had the right conditions to begin a new project, a series of facelifts performed in the landscape. I am taking photographs in nature, having them printed large, cutting them out, mounting them, and then installing them somewhere that needs a little visual enhancement. “Facelift performed at 44.004890, -121.378926” is the first of a series of such interventions I have planned. I photographed snow remnants in a forested area during the melt after the last snowstorm. Then I cut out the shapes and inserted these “scraps of synthetic snow” in a desert landscape this afternoon.
